Welcome to Scribble House!
Our mission is to provide a space where Pittsburgh's writers and artists can gather, create, learn, and perform.
While we work toward that goal, we're doing things around the city to start building the community that will serve as Scribble House's foundation.
Our next big event is the first Scribble House Lit Fest, a book festival for western PA journals, presses, and other publishers, on November 17th, 2024 at Spirit in Lawrenceville. Along with books for sale from local publishers, the event will include quick pitch sessions with presses, a silent workshop, and prizes for attendees! You can learn more info or register to get a free raffle ticket on entry at the link above.
You can find us the 2nd Saturday of every month at East Liberty library with the Send It! group. The group is free and open to writers and artists at all stages of their career who are ready to submit their creative work for publication. You can find more details on our events page or join the group on Meetup.
We also run the Feedback Open Mic series at Nico's Recovery Room in Bloomfield. Keep an eye out here for details on when those will be happening in 2025. If you want to keep tabs on what we're up to in the meantime, you can:
- Join the Scribble House Facebook Group to connect with other folks in the local lit and arts communities.
- Join the Scribble House PGH subreddit to share and learn about other cool literary and art things in our fair city.
- Enter your email address below to sign up for our monthly newsletter. Along with updates on Scribble House, each newsletter includes info on other literary events happening around Pittsburgh, open submission calls from local presses, and a writing prompt to get your creative juices flowing.
